THE INSTITUTE
Beyond intelligence
The Human Intelligence Institute was founded on a simple observation: Highly intelligent people do not automatically reach their full potential. Not because they lack capability, but because part of their development remains untrained.
From an early age, many learn to rely on their intellect. It works. It is rewarded. It becomes their strength. And at the same time, something else receives less attention:
- awareness of their inner state
- sensitivity to what they feel
- understanding of how their history shapes them
This matters more than it seems. Because in practice:
- decisions are not purely rational
- relationships determine outcomes
- unseen patterns influence behaviour
We build stronger connections to oneself which creates:
- clarity in decision-making
- ease in interaction
- the ability to navigate complexity beyond logic
This is the work of the institute. Not adding more knowledge,
but developing access to what is already there. More You.

ME
When intelligence was no longer enough
I was born in the south of the Netherlands,
the son of a teacher and a stay-at-home mother,
and the grandson of two coal mine workers. Rooted in curiosity with a drive to continuously grow.
In search of truth, I studied applied physics in Delft, graduating with honours, and continued with a PhD in bio(nano)physics.
I loved systems and the clarity they bring.
If you put your mind to it, everything can be understood.
I built my career in that world. For over 5 years as a consultant, and more than 10 years as an educator in data and AI, I helped organizations think more clearly and act more effectively.
But over time, I realized that the real limitations are not rational. They are human.
It’s why adoption stalls; teams struggle and individuals do not reach their potential. Not because they lack intelligence, but because something else is missing.
That realization marked a shift. In the past years, I have focused on deep personal development.
Understanding the patterns, histories and dynamics that shape how people act, interact and lead.
Today, I bring these insights back into the world of business. Not instead of rationality, but alongside it. Because intelligence, on its own, is not enough.
